It also creates an opportunity to teach our\nchildren what love is, the different types of love, and that we should always\nappreciate the special people that surround us in our lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Letting them make these simple Valentine\u2019s notes of\nappreciation will teach them something about love for friends and family and will\nhelp them brighten someone\u2019s day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">You will need:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Colourful cardboard or paper (Think traditional Valentine\u2019s\ncolours, like white, red and pink)<\/li><li>Different coloured pens<\/li><li>Decorations (heart-shaped stickers\/ cut out\nshapes from paper\/ glitter, etc.)<\/li><li>Glue<\/li><li>Sk\u00ear<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Visit <a href=\"http:\/\/\ufeffhttps:\/\/besigebreintjies.co.za\/shop\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"our shop (opens in a new tab)\">our shop<\/a> for some great kits that you can purchase for your little one to decorate their notes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Instructions:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The idea is to make something small, but meaningful. Have your little one cut out small squares, rectangles or hearts from the cardboard or paper, keeping in mind that it should be big enough to write their message of appreciation on and to decorate it. (Of course, no one will stop them if they want to make big ones.)<\/li><li>Use the different coloured pens to write messages on the cards. Help them to identify that one thing that they appreciate about each person they are making a card for. <\/li><li>The next step will be to let them decorate each card that they have made. Let their imaginations run wild and let their love pour onto every card.<\/li><li>Delivering these cards will be the last step. For close relatives living at home they can be given on Valentine\u2019s Day, or even on any day in February for that matter, and the notes for their friends can be handed out at school. Letting each person know that they matter to them will mean a great deal to those receiving a card, and our children will realise that love doesn\u2019t only need to be romantic.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Ideas for messages to family and friends can include the following:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Mommy, thank you for always taking such good care of our family.<\/li><li>Daddy, thank you for always playing with me.<\/li><li>Thank you for being my best friend.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The message they wish to include will depend on their relationship with the person and what they value most about them. They could also write down compliments instead of saying thank you for something.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If your little one is still small and can\u2019t read or write yet, write something on their behalf or just let them decorate the cards.
