</script>Hierdie ‘meme’ het onlangs die rondte gedoen op sosiale media, rondom Ma wees in 2019 en dit het my baie laat dink… Daar is soveel fasette van vrou wees – ma, dogter, vriendin, kollega, suster en beminde om ‘n paar te noem. Dit alleen klink uitputtend, né? Dan is daar nog skoolvergaderings, oefen, gebalanseerde dieet (wat kinders eet), skoonheidsroetines wat ons wil volg, huishouding bestuur, troeteldiere versorg, familie en skoonfamilie en, en, en… Ek glo ons as vrouens kan alles doen en nog wonderlik lyk terwyl ons besig is daarmee. Maar (daar is altyd ‘n maar), ons sit enorme druk op onsself! Sosiale media is defnintief olie op die vuur – ons sien ander mammas in hul oefenklere, in ontwerpers pakkies, perfek gestilleer met die nuutste (en duurste) bykomstighede én nie ‘n plooi in sig nie. Die foto’s van kinderpartytjies wat meer elegant is as jou troue… Mens kan amper nie help om skuldig te voel oor jou verbleikde sweetpak wat effens styf sit en die hasie partytjiepakkies wat jy met liefde self gemaak het nie.
